Birds of a feather.

A report of the sighting of a Red-necked Phalarope, a rare visitor to these parts, brings birders flocking from near and far.

Even birders already familiar with the species, from seeing it during overseas birding trips, are still keen to see one of the species within Australia.

Many thanks to Ruth Woodrow for this "selfie" depicting some of the Phalarope's fans including, from the front, Ruth herself, Kay Parkin, Paul Dodd, Vik Dunis, R Bruce Richardson, Joy Tansey and Jennifer Spry.
